Dodge is a brand owned by Chrysler. Chrysler is now controlled by Fiat. Chrysler went through a process somewhat like bankruptcy, but the government did not obey the bankruptcy statutes, so Chrysler’s status is unique.

Dodge is not now owned by Mercedes. Daimler which owns the Mercedes-benz brand does not own Chrysler, which owns the Dodge brand name. Fiat, the U.S. government, and the UAW now own Chrysler and its other brands. They have already gone through and completed their bankruptcy.
