Is the Toyota recall the best thing to ever happen to Ford, GM and Chrysler in the last decade?
February 2nd, 2010 | by admin |"…..Shares of Toyota stock have fallen 17 percent since the recall, according to a report on Bloomberg.com. And one industry insider familiar with inner workings of the manufacturer said Toyota was losing $500 million for every week assembly lines remain idle."……
BTW….Let’s not forget it was Daimler-Benz that ran Chrysler, the most profitable car company at time of purchase, into the ground.
I don’t consider ignoring 2000 incedents and 18 death’s since 1999 a good hearted company for finally fixing there problem.
Cutting corners for using the same part in different applications is coming back to haunt them.
Ford is doing pretty well, GM is doing OK but Chrysler still needs some work.

I wonder if GM, Ford, and Chrysler have started hiring real workers………instead of golf players, and talkers + Brat Pitt look alike as executives and Engineers

Nope. Just a bump in the road.
-thanks btw, I’ll be throwing ‘a little’ money at Toyo in a week or two when they start back up. 17% really? I hope it goes down some more, leaves a better margin.

No, people will say it shows how Toyota is dedicated to quality, even after the sale.
They will be called "good corporate citizens," and their reputation will only improve because they fixed the problem instead of stonewalling and denying and refusing to fix it, like GM did when I had a problem with my new GM vehicle. I took it to my GM dealer, and I tried to get it repaired on the so called "bumper to bumper" warrantee that covers everything except anything that goes wrong.
That’s why Toyota will ALWAYS be better than GM.
That’s why I own two Toyotas, and I got rid of my GM as fast as I could.
In fact, I traded in my GM on one of the Toyotas.

The problem with Toyota have been known of since 1999, the recall is an inside job probably by the Obama administration to help GM.
